fm and pm Ami With forty cooperative members in its ranks, the band has had a very successful year. Most of those who joined the band at the beginning of the year had had at least one year of ex- perience to their credit, while some had two or three years. Some new members joined and, although they were not able to hit all the notes, we hope they gained experience which will help them to eventually fill the vacant chairs which are left by graduating seniors. We believe the band has added much to the success of the activities of our school. At the regular assemblies we played as the students entered and left the auditorium. Frequently we contributed other numbers on assembly programs. At one, which was given entirely by the Music Department, the band played sev- eral numbers. During the football season the band led the downtown pep rallies and added much to the enthusiasm of the student body. On the evening of May 6, a band concert was given in the auditorium, the proceeds of which went into a fund to purchase new uni- forms for the band. We also led the annual Armistice and Memorial Day parades. The pep band is an organization of those band members who were not on the football or basketball squads. We played at all pep meet- ings during the basketball season and were on hand at all home basketball and football games to add to the cheering of the loyal supporters of our teams.
