A lim ll The Senior Class History One bright morning in Autumn, the school bell rang out inviting all to come and rearn, come and learn. Among those who answered the summons were about Hfty odd individuals who had decided to take lodging in the halls of learning of hit. Gilead High School. Being known as 'fl reshmen we were welcomed by the inevitable hoots and yells and were ushered to the front seats. The upper classmen soon learned to respect the lfreshies'l for appearances are sometimes deceitful. After becoming acquainted with our surroundings, we settled down and almost before we knew it, mid-year exams were upon us. lwany of our members did not expect to survive this ordeal but were agreeably disappointed and lived to repeat the ixperience the latter part of lllay. After the summer vacation twenty-six of the original fifty came back as Sopho- mores. Several of our class showed up well in athletics in this year. In our -lunior year we we1'e conside1'ed one of the most active and good natured classes of the high school. XVe entertained the Seniors at a Banquet on April 20th, 1923. Our class was the originator of the K'-luniorl' which has been successfully pub- lished this year by the class of ,25. 'lhis last year several new members joined our happy band and we now number thirty-four. Thus the years have passed. Now that the end is here we look back and smile, happy that we have completed our high school career, although regretful that our high school days are gone forever, and that we have left the halls of lNfIt. Gilead High never to return. lx4ARY SMITH. ,. , f f' Q 711 itil! xg, if-F51-5 I 'al ge Twenty'-seven W 4 X J ANIIZiEYAl'iD
