facult Teachers Association Highlights - 1971-1972: The purpose of the Teachers Association is to pro- tect and develop the teaching-learning situation in the district. The association also holds the responsibility of insuring that teachers' wages, hours, and conditions of work are professional. The Teachers Association's efforts are directed toward creating and maintaining desirable teaching conditions for the teachers and ben- eficial learning conditions for the students of our school. The Teachers Association - has proposed the evolvement of our school dis- trict out of an obsolete functional format. - has recommended a developmental and remedi- al reading program in the senior high. - has requested large group study areas. - has recommended major curriculum revision of the college preparatory program. - provides an annual four year scholarship. - has opposed the hiring of non-certified teach- ers. - has social functions to enhance harmony among faculty members and assimilate new faculty members.
