7 REQUIESCAT REV. VICTOR SCHWAR, O. Carm. All Carmel mourned the sudden death of the Reverend Victor Schwar, O. Carm., former teacher at Mount Carmel High School. The 38 year old priest was struck by a cerebral hemorrhage in the Phila- delphia Naval Hospital, July 10, 1951. Pastor and Prior of the Carmelite parish of Holy Trinity in Pittsburgh since June, 1948, Father Victor had been recalled by the Air Force as a chaplain. The youthful Carmelite was born in Zamboanga, in the Philippines, the son of a professional Army man. He attended Mt. Carmel College at Niagara Falls, Ontario, for his seminary studies, and later De Paul, Notre Dame, Illinois, and Northwestern Universities. From 1934 to 1939 Father Victor taught Mathematics and was Registrar at Mount Carmel High School. After his discharge from service in the Second World War, he was assistant pastor of St. Cecelia Church in Englewood, N.
