Student-Body President's Letter June, 1958 Dear Students, This is the twentieth graduation class from Mount Carmel High School. To each class, this event has a special personal meaning, which distinguishes this school year of 'I957-1958 from preceding ones. For the Seniors, 1958 marks the end of four years of religious, social, academic and athletic endeavors, under the guiding and protective mantle of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. We have received the constant help and good example of the Carmelite Fathers, Brothers and Lay Faculty, which will, no doubt, be greatly instrumental in assuring our successes in the future. As for the rest of the Student Body - the Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen, they will always remember this year as one of Carmel's greatest, and will thus be very proud of the part they played in achieving this success. Hard work and perseverance, during this our Senior year, have paid rich dividends. This has been demonstrated not only in the high academic standards we upheld, but also in athletics, where we proved that whether we were underrated or overrated, we always lived up to the ideals- and traditions of Mount Carmel. As President of the Student Body, l wish to thank the members of the Faculty for their wonderful support, and members of the Student Council, who worked unceasingly for the school and to whom can be credited much of this year's success. Also, a sincere vote of thanks should be extended to the parents and friends of Mount Carmel for their help and many encouragements. Last, but not least, l would like to congratulate the entire Student Body for their excellent cooperation and school spirit. May God always bless you, and may Our Lady of Mount Carmel always keep you in her loving care. Sincerely, Student Body President

J -'-.'?'f-33 5, W lj ks, xr i , l Q t ,f fl 5 , HK if Principal's 5- ff- Message My dear Seniors: The students of Mount Carmel and the members of the Faculty join me in offering you our congratulations on the occasion of your graduation. You are, by the way, the twentieth class to be graduated from Mount Carmel. Normally there is very little to distinguish one graduation class from preceding ones. World events of the past year, however, have done much to change some of our national thinking. There is to be added emphasis on at more rigorous type of education. We believe that your training here at Mount Carmel has been of the quality that our country wants. Yet education, per se, no matter how excellent, is not an end in itself but only a means to an end. It must have direction to be meaningful and that direction is to know God better so that through our knowledge we may offer Him the love and service for which all men were created. As you grow older in years may you increase in wisdom and grace and may the protection of Our Lady of Mount Carmel always be with you. Sincerely, 41064-an, '12, 'Ax
