fl l i fb- Z Dear Faculty and Students: As our final days at Carmel pass by, we realize that another successful school year is almost over. Members of our Senior Class have contributed much to that success - in the scholastic, athletic, and social activities -- and are thereby to be congratulated. They had the responsibility of leadership, and their actions did much to determine the attitude and spirit of the entire Student Body. The Juniors and Sophomores are beginning to appreciate their heritage as students of Mount Carmel High School. As upperclassmen, they will be recog- nized as men of Carmel. Then theirs will be the responsibility of helping others towards that full maturity which is the goal of education. The Freshman Class of T957 has been particularly enthusiastic in accepting its part in the life ofthe school. What better example can be used than their wholehearted support of the Mount Carmel festivals! May this spirit exemplify their attitude throughout their years at Carmel. To the Faculty, our sincere gratitude for the dedication of their lives to one of the noblest of callings - the education of youth. Many times we have failed to show adequate appreciation, but as we grow older we will fully under- stand and acknowledge their contribution to our development. As President of the Student Body, I wish to thank the members of the Faculty, the Student Body Officers, the Student Body, and the parents and friends of Carmel for all that they have done to make this an outstanding year in Carmel's history. May we, under the Mantle of Mary, always live up to the principles of life that the Carmelite Fathers and Brothers have attempted to foster in us. When wearing Mary's Scapular, no matter where we are or what we are doing, we will be assured of being true Carmelites. jcerely in Our Lady of Mount Carmel, I X. ' f Lf,r7ff:4ax,'1 . CALIFDPNIA May, i957 My dear Seniors, As your final year at Mount Carmel is almost over, your faculty and your fellow students offer you their congratulations on the occasion of your graduation. This last year of yours at Mount Carmel has been a very memorable one. At no time in its history has the school enioyed so much success. In studies, in debating and public speaking, in football, in basketball and in all other athletics and activities, you have been excellently represented. With reason you have been proud of your school for you have played a maior part in its life. By your par- ticipation and by your loyalty and support you have helped to make that lite a healthy one. For this we thank you. The future, whatever it may mean for you, will be competitive. But you have liked competition. You have enioyed it and you have been best when it was keenest. We hope that this spirit will show itself in the lives you lead after Carmel - that they will be truly Catholic and truly holy. May the grace of God always be with you and may our Lady of Mount Carmel always protect you. Yours sincerely, M LP-L Principal.
