Co Editors Ivfary Lou Swalde and Diane Arneson look at last years 'Ave Maria and hope that the students will cherish the AM '57 as they did the first yearbook of Mt, Carmel High School. It's the second year for the Ave Maria. Staff members had Moments to Remember of work and fun. It's fun to look through annuals from other schools and find ideas. HOLDING MT. CARMEL'S NFL charter is Ben Rizzuto, president of the school chapter. Others who first became NFL members and whose names appear on the charter are Doris Coon, Fred Gaglia, Geraldine Pergola, Barbara Ruybal, Tom Scaglia, Ben Rizzuto, Virginia D'Ascoli, Judy Connor, Carolyn Johnson and Sylvia Portman. Chester Boh '55 is also a charter member. C5 x Mfg, 72.7.44 sri The Mt. Carmel chapter of the National Forensics League has completed its first year of membership with 32 participants. The charter was received in May, 1955. NFL'ers attended speech meets at Colorado Springs HS, St. Francis de Sales HS, Mt. Carmel HS, Regis HS, Holy Family HS, Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colorado A and M, Fort Collins, Boulder HS, Loretto Heights College, The District Tournament, Cathedral HS and Colorado University. The speech instructor is Sister M. Audrey and she is assisted in contest speech by Sister M. Perpetua. Mr. Leonard Carlin is debate coach.
