A What is a sign? A sign is a symbol of many things. It is adsymbol of people and ideas. A sign represents instruction and direction. Signs lead us in many different directions. Throughout our lives we have been guided by these signsg signs telling us what to do, and what not to do. These signs, when analyzed with foresight towards the fu- ture, may lead us on to fame and fortune. Signs make us laugh--or they make us cry. They are happy --or they are sad. They' are good, or they are bad. The theme of the 1959 Tyee will be these signs, Signs of Life, which play such an important role in the drama of our lives.
