and other Middle-Age architecture. These
blazes gave Way to a huge, bright Flame-
modern art, whose severe classical beauty be-
gins where the earlywestern races leFt oFF and
continues with their ideals.
To this ever-enduring Flame oF progress, trace-
able in architecture, which Finds a huge Fagot
For its eternal Fire in the Century Exposition, we
dedicate this boolc and hope that it may be the
means oF importing the Warmth oF the Progress
Flame to the students.
