FOREWORD The thirty-third edition of the CAULDRON is based upon a theme that is both timely and suitable. A certain amount of regulation of activity is necessary in a complex civiliza- tion, and it is accepted and shared by the people of democratic countries, who recoof nize its obvious benefits. The admonitions of these traffic sions apply to specific situations, where human experif ences have shown a need for directions. STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is the agency tor student government in M.T.H.S,, and, with the aid ot its advisors, Miss Baldridge and Mr. Carper, the duties performed benetit the entire student body. The membership is composed ot the three officers elec- ted by the whole school, and the student represen- tatives chosen by each class. Trying their best to please the majority and to better the schools social lite, the Council this year sponsored play-nites in the gym. The large atten- dance at these functions proved their success and popularity. Assemblies also came under their mane agement, in greater number than usual, The came paign in the spring for next year's otticers was one of their last projects. lnterest and enthusiasm ran high, resulting in the election of Clint Kennel, Bob Oberlander. and Karen Pflederer for president, vice- president, and secretary-treasurer.
