The gals had to ask their favorite fellow and foot the hill The PHA. sponsored a Sadie Hawkins Dance which reversed the usual dating pro! cedure ol looys asking girls, The very deter- mined girls were bold enough to collect a large crowd ot willing boys, and the dance was a gala event. Four social hours, sponsored by each ot the classes, ranged in themes from dances to a carnival, and attracted many M.T.l-IS. party-goers. The parties were always a welcome source ot recreation, and the stu- dents who attended them tound fun and re- laxation. for the annual F.H.A.-sponsored Sadie Hawkins Dance. Student Council sponsored PlayfNites, where interested students participated in varie ous games and athletics. These informal at- lairs were a relatively new idea, and were executed with success. The formal dances of the year included the Philosophers Valentine Ball, and the jun- iorfsenior prom held May l8. These two danf ces added that special touch to the roster of parties at M,T,H.S. 12

WORK BEFORE PLAY M.T.f'f.S, literally buzzes with ac- tivity throughout each year. The sea- sons of the year determine the kinds of activities to be expected. At Christ- mas time, Student Council members purchased and decorated a large Christmas tree, which was erected in the main hall. The tree Was very beau- tiful, and expressed the feeling of the Yuletide season. In the spring of the year, the annual Student Council election of officers was held. A Week of vigorous campaigning brought into being a great number of posters, which advertised each candi- date for office. The posters could be found in every imaginable place in the building. Speeches were the last vote-gettersf' and the election fol- lowed. Many posters covered the walls during the vigorous cum- BECRME -OUR MOTTO pulgns by candidates for the offices oi Student Council. Y K. Kelly and B. Hoskins helped decorate for the festive Yuletide. IMT ABS UNIT

Many times during each day, comes an in- cident which calls for permanent observation. If I only had a camera! is frequently the cry of dismay. Candid shots!-those pictures taken unexpectedly-are often the most in- teresting and amusing to take, and see, The pictures -on these pages are candids, and one can understand the desire to record such scenes. Not only are students captured in un- usual poses, but also two faculty members! Study halls and classrooms usually fur- nish a sizeable amount of entertainment to break the monotony of the day. Sometimes the entertainment is the audible type, but very often it is silent, and observed by only a few people. Facial expressions and amusing study- ing postures are interesting to see, and can be noticed in just a few minutes of a study l'1all's time. These pictures are a sample of such daily happenings within our alma mater's walls. Sinner or Saint-could this possibly be the Bob Sicbenrnark we know?
