Leading The Way To Success Academic excellence is evident at Mortimer Jordan through the annual selection of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Senior class. These selections are made on the basis of grade point average from grades 9-12. The Valedictorian is chosen as the student who has made a 4.0 grade point average of all A ' s during this period of time. The Salutatorian is chosen as the student who has made below 4.0 but ranks the highest of all the others. In the 1988 graduating class, Baron Worthington was selected as the Valedictorian. Baron actually had a 4.19 average because of his extra quality points he gained from Honors English. The Salutatorian is Mike Myers with a 3.86 average. These students represent the highest evidences of scholastic success at MJ. These students should be commended for their exemplary behavior in Leading the way to success. 16

Dana Sharit Voted on by her fellow students to receive this award Dana shows the qualities of lead- ership, dependability, scholarship, and ser- vice. Her academic achievements and extra- curricular activit ies add to the qualities for this award. Dana enjoys cheerleading and she is head of the Varsity Squad. Her high academic scores placed her as a member of the Honor Society. She was also chosen Most Athletic in the senior Who ' s Who.
