I, Jerry Cathey, will to Carl Roach my ability to be bench warmer in basketball I, Bob DeBerry, will my basketball shoes to James Martin. I, Dick Duke, will my basketball shoes to Carl Roach. I, Robert elder, will my ability to catch fish to Mr. Crawley. I, Dorcas Gunter, will to Hazel Love my place as head cheerleader. I, Helen Harrell, will my typing ability to 'Shirley Burks provided she will do it for the teachers. I, Shirley Ware, will my ability to play volleyball in the fair for three years to Linda Boyd. I, Jimmy Turner, will to Benny Sanders my speed and ability to break a ball bat with the trade mark up.

cgenzbr jflsfory In the autumn of 1953 we entered high school with thirty-six students in our class, Jerry Cathey was elected President, Lynn Bouldin, vice president: Barbara Tenpenny, secretaryg Bob Deberry, treasurerg Elizabeth Craven, re- porterg and Bill Simons, sergeant-at-arms, with Mr. Howard as our sponsor, Later in that year Dorcas Gunter and Wayne Talbert were crowned king and queen of our school. In the beginning of our sophomore year, we had thirty-five students en- rolled in our class. Mr. Foster was a new member of the faculty and we selected him as our sponsor. Wilma Robinette, Elizabeth Craven, Shirley Ware, Dick Duke, Bob DeBerry and James Medley played basketball. The cheerleaders from our class were Gail Hall, Jean Floyd, Barbara Ten- penny and Claudia Swift Higdon, We returned the next term as juniors, We selected Mr. Foster as our sponsor for the second time. That year we put on a Negro Minstrel called 'Cotton Town Carnival. We also had a very nice banquet for the seniors at the Hillcrest Motel in McMinnville. In our junior year we had a good basketball squad, boph boys and girls. We won several of the activities at the fair that year. ln 1956, we became seniors. Our class officers are as follows: Dorcas Gunter, presidentg Dick Duke, vice presidentg Jimmy Turner, secretaryg Shirley Ware, Treasurerg Robert Elder, sergeant-at-arms: and Geneva Vickers, reporter, Mrs. Jarrell, Mr, Foster and Mr. Womack are our sponsors. Wilma Robinette was a captain of the basketball squad and the only senior girl playing. Dick Duke, Don Hobbs, Bob Deberry, and Jerry Cathey played basketball with Don Hobbs and Dick Duke as captains. We again won several of the activities at the fair. Our girls won second place in volleyball. Our boys took first place in the track team with Lynn Bouldin, Dick Duke, and Jimmy Turner running. Jimmy and Dick also took first and second place in the 100-yard dash. We have two very good basketball teams which we hope are able to take the tournament this year. Our senior cheerleaders this year are as follows: Dorcas Gunter, Claudia Higdon, Barbara Tenpenny, and Faye Rogers. We are looking forward to our banquet which the junior class will give us. We also have a class play and our class trip coming up. We will go to Daytona Beach, Florida. We hope that our class will long be remembered by the faculty and fellow students.
