In the beginning of our sophomore year, we had thirty-five students en- rolled in our class. Mr. Foster was a new member of the faculty and we selected him as our sponsor. Wilma Robinette, Elizabeth Craven, Shirley Ware, Dick Duke, Bob DeBerry and James Medley played basketball. The cheerleaders from our class were Gail Hall, Jean Floyd, Barbara Ten- penny and Claudia Swift Higdon, We returned the next term as juniors, We selected Mr. Foster as our sponsor for the second time. That year we put on a Negro Minstrel called 'Cotton Town Carnival. We also had a very nice banquet for the seniors at the Hillcrest Motel in McMinnville. In our junior year we had a good basketball squad, boph boys and girls. We won several of the activities at the fair that year. ln 1956, we became seniors. Our class officers are as follows: Dorcas Gunter, presidentg Dick Duke, vice presidentg Jimmy Turner, secretaryg Shirley Ware, Treasurerg Robert Elder, sergeant-at-arms: and Geneva Vickers, reporter, Mrs. Jarrell, Mr, Foster and Mr. Womack are our sponsors. Wilma Robinette was a captain of the basketball squad and the only senior girl playing. Dick Duke, Don Hobbs, Bob Deberry, and Jerry Cathey played basketball with Don Hobbs and Dick Duke as captains. We again won several of the activities at the fair. Our girls won second place in volleyball. Our boys took first place in the track team with Lynn Bouldin, Dick Duke, and Jimmy Turner running. Jimmy and Dick also took first and second place in the 100-yard dash. We have two very good basketball teams which we hope are able to take the tournament this year. Our senior cheerleaders this year are as follows: Dorcas Gunter, Claudia Higdon, Barbara Tenpenny, and Faye Rogers. We are looking forward to our banquet which the junior class will give us. We also have a class play and our class trip coming up. We will go to Daytona Beach, Florida. We hope that our class will long be remembered by the faculty and fellow students.
