Butler was elected as the first president and served two terms in that position. During her tenure in office the club adopted a project to provide glasses for needy children in the Morris Schools, Approximately S150 was spent for this purpose with several pairs of glasses being furnished to school students. Mrs. John Shroyer was elected club President in Sept. of the 1957- 58 school term. The project adopted for this year was the improvement of playground equipment for the grade school. Approximately S360 has been spent for a new slide, new merry-go-round, and other needed repairs. The club raises money in various ways such as basketball games, talent shows, stunt nights, etc. Some of the money is used to pay for meals for needy children who eat in the cafeteria, and some is spent on pictures for the school rooms. The regular meeting date for the club is the third Thursday of each school month. Patrons can learn more about the school system by being a member of this very active school organization.
