Scholarships This year the scholarships were not as easy to come by as they have been in the past years-not that they have ever been a cinch -due to the fact that more and more students are trying for them. More and more they are finding that scholarships are not as easy to come by as they thought they would be. MHS students held their own this year, though. The Monarch Majestics were well- qualified to meet such goals, just as the knights of old were able to meet the goals they had set before themselves. Listed below are the scholarships that were awarded to MHS Seniors. This is not a com- plete list. but due to the date of SCEPTRE printing these were all that could be printed. If 'Qu' unior - enior VOM4 The 1958 Junior-Senior Prom, 'iApril Love, was held April 18 at the Hollywood Riviera Country Club in the Brentwood Hills. Music was provided by the Keith Williams combo. More than S1000 was spent for decorations and preparations. The very successful decora- tions featured a color scheme of yellow, laven- dar and white, which colors were also carried out in unique and decorative bids. Handmade Horal baskets, part of the decorations, were distributed the following Monday to cabinet members. Hard-working committee chairmen were Sylvia Santany, Dixie Marley. Marianne Photo- glou, Sandy Smith and Sue Lloyd. K
