COACHES-.Bill Pendleton Tom Brannigan Larry Smith ,BasLefAall Morningside's Varsity Basketball team, under new Head Coach Larry Smith, tied with the Hawthorne Cougars for the Pioneer League championship. The Monarchs qualified for the CIF playoffs but lost to a powerful Santa Maria team in the first round. Two Morningside players, center Tom Grates and guard Burton Davies, made the six-man first string all-Pioneer League team.
