Two extremely busy musical groups at MHS have been the Continentals and the Coedsf, They have really sold Morningside to hundreds of Inglewood Citizens. These highly talented groups have given much school service in their per- formances before P-TA,s, women's clubs, service clubs, churches, school activities, and assemblies. These highly selected groups are purely voluntary in that they must rehearse on their own time, before and after school. They are great public relations workers for MHS.

Noniim-rs., I Klrbx. ocal usic Morningside's A Cappella Choir has participated in many school and civic activities this year and received high recognition in their performances. During the last four years they have achieved superior ratings at various festivals. Besides putting on several assemblies at MHS. they also journeyed to Monroe and Hawthorne to put on assemblies there. A Cappella Choir is under the leadership of Director William Marvel. Betty Lusby is the ac- companist. Ofiicers are Sandy Phelps, presidentg Bill Tucker, managerg Linda Hutchins and Lillian Le Blanc, secretariesg Bonnie Beckner and Linda Kirby, librariansg John Petterson and Gary Pond, robe keepers. The Choir was featured in the Inglewood 50th Anniversary Pageant. Other performances in- clude the Annual Spring Concert on May I4. appearances before various civic groups and clubs, and a feature role at the Drama Awards Show. They also combined with lnglewood's A Cappella Choir in the Inglewood Fair concert. This is the largest A Cappella Choir in the history of Morningside. The Girls' Cilee Clubs under Don Fontana also had a very busy year. One of their perform- ances was in A l.ittle Night Music on April 20. The Senior Glee along with A Cappella sang at the Christmas Program. The Senior Cilec also sang at the Festival at Redlands. The Girls' Glee was featured at the Baccalaureate Ifestixalf' 'I here is also a Boys' Cilee at MHS. but they did not put on any public performances.
