:; ??sr ..! Fifty Seniors and four chaperons visited the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol i Building, White House, Wax Museum, Arlington Cemetery, President Kennedy ' s grave, ' Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Archives, and the Smithsonian Institute. SENIORS VISIT WASHINGTON D.C. r ? While in Arlington Cemetery the Seniors pause to view the grave of the late President Kennedy and his two children. The grave side is freshly stocked with flowers daily. A Washington, D. C. policeman holds up traffic while the Morley-Stanwood Sen- iors cross the highway in front of the Capitol Building. 78

The Seniors have a chance to relax and get some fresh air before they must march. Gary Hopkins and Ron Kelly make last minute arrangements of their appearance before the Commencement exercises begin. Dr. Victor F. Spathelf, President of Ferris State College, gave the Commencement address. He encouraged more of the Seniors to further their education through College by illustrating what effect education will have on the future. Jane Bush and Larry Rushmore lead the Seniors to the stage and the climax of their thirteen years of schooling. 77

Some of the Seniors check over the various types of missiles and rockets at one of the many sections of the Smith- sonian Institute. Don Ellison appears to be a fish out of water. Don actually is in the middle of a dive at the pool of the luxurious Park Arlington Motel where the Seniors stayed in comfort. The Seniors take a rest before boarding the buses for more tours and more steps! When the Seniors weren ' t right on schedule, they ended up waiting in line at Scholl ' s Cafeteria. The wait was worth it because the food was ex- ceptionally good. Gayle Crandall, Roger Friesner, .Kay Knestrick, and Gary Hopkins, rest for a minute in the warm sunshine before entering the Museum of History and Technology. Everyone is bright and cheerful and not at all tired! ? Most of the Seniors wisely used the bus riding for rest but, of course, there were a few who used it for other things. i
