STUDENTS LEARN NEW SKILLS Mrs. Mclntyre, our shorthand teacher, dictates the day ' s assignment. All shorthand and typing classes are taught by Mrs. Mclntyre. She obtained her BS degree from Ferris State Col- lege. Mr. Bignall, one of our new teachers, helps two of his students, Mike Creighton and Gary O ' Neil, put the finishing touches on their project. Mr. Bignall has a BS degree in Industrial Arts from Northern Michigan University. He instructs all shop students in drafting; general, metal, and wood shop. Miss Ryzenga, home economics teacher, gives a few pointers to two of her students, Coralie Irwin and JoAnne Boerma, on cleaning up the kitchen. Miss Ryzenga also teaches psychology with a major in homemaking and a minor in science. She obtained her BS degree from Central Michigan University. STUDENT COUNCIL SERVES THROUGH LEADERSHIP The Student Council serves the students by publishing the Mohawk, maintaining a record library, organizing the home- coming festivities, Christmas program, and Intramural sports program. Student Council roller skating parties are enjoyed by all, and here, member Herm McConnell is shown doing his part by taking tickets at the door. Elections are held each spring with the students choosing who they want to lead the Student Council. Officers elected were: Gayle Crandall, Secretary; Dave Bird, President; Mr. Beaton, Advisor; Ted Underwood, Vice-President; Ron Denslow, Treasurer.
