The Senior class wills their ability to collect lectures from the teachers to the future senior class. Carol Eldred wills her ability to ride in red pickups to Margo Ruhl. Charlene Holdren wills her ability to get in trouble in schhol, and with the teachers to Marilyn Hoppe. Incidentally don't leave the paper wads laying around after shooting them, you might get in trouble that way. Kenneth Brokaw wills his manager job to Lonnie Henrichson. Nancy wills her ability to write to Kansas as often as she does to Junior Gerdes. Of course you have to have someone to write to first, eh Nancy? Get busy writing Junior incidentally find scmeone to write to first. The Senior class wills a pair of heel clips to Mr. Ridout some poor unsuspecting class will hear him coming. Marvin wills his butch to Francis Conner and hopes he'l1 look as good in it as Marv. did. Kathleen wills her ability to stay out late to Judy Tallman. Kenneth Daub wills his ability in not having to come to any school activities, in which he should be participating and getting by with it to Allen Eden. Let's not overdo it Allen. Carol Eldred wills her ability to get in early to Janet Siver. Carol Pulver wills her ability to kiss on the first date to someone who was shy like her. Perhaps Nancy Jayne could use it. Kenneth Brokaw wills some of his weight to Junior Gerdes. Kenneth Daub wills his luck of running out of gas to Keith Vernon Lowell wills his aility to foul out of basketball games to Dick Blake. Dale Findley wills his shqyness and quietness to Janet Siver. Charlene Holdren wills her ability to sleep in History class to Junior Gerdes. Frankly I clon't think he needs it. Lowell wills his ability to miss the first word in a spell- down to Gene Eldred. Kenneth Brokaw wills his penmanship to Nancy Jayne, also a 'book of instructions "How to Read" after she's finished writing To Mrs. Bair the Senior class wills all the Literature books and instructions of "How to Hold a Perfect Class" Cwithout us in it by the way.D Lowell wills his ability to drive a car with one hand to Gene or does he alreachr know how Priscilla? ' Carol Pulver wills her ability to stay up late with a certain fellow initialed M. M. and I do mean late and go to school the next morning to Clara Pillard. We don't mind that Carol, just keep that darned spotlight to yourself . Other people sleep you know Cor did you?l To the Junior Class, we will our marred and scarred desks that show evidences of toil during our senior year. SE Senior Class Prophecy I turned the calendar page over this morning, and suddenly remembered I had a date one, we the Seniors of l95h, made 20 years ago. I'd almost forgotten that date in the years that have passed so swiftly. I found myself hoping that no one else had forgotten. We had said...way back in ll3ELp...that we'd meet on the school lawn, for a picnic, the first Sunday in Junel97h. And this was Sunday, June the first, l97h. Back in those days, we were all young, care-free kids .... we didn't make any set plans, just promised each other that we'd eat dinner together today. As I placed two pies in the oven...I found myself wondering how many would keep that date. Well I'd see. Leonard was out in the yard trimming the rose bushes I called to him. He remarked that we'd probably find ourselves eating our own picnic dinner, so I'd better fix a little of everything. I dressed carefully in my best dressg and as I combed my hair...I smiled. Fate hadn't treated me too badly. Leonard had a good job...Bonnie was married... and Bob already in college. On the spur of the moment, I called Bonnie, and asked her if I might take my young grandson to the picnic with me. Bet I'd be the only one of the class there with a grandchild, to show off. ...We arrived a little early...but then it wasn't far. It was getting close to noon, before the first car...a shiny green ford...came up the lane. It was... yes, it was Carol Eldred. Nell .... that's the way I remember her...but, she's hrs. Lonnie Hinrichsen now. It had been lO years since I'd seen them. She and Lonnie own a farm in Illinois, and they told us they have three fine sons...all in high school. Kenneth Brokaw was next to arrive. He came alone in a 1972 Dodge coupe. He's a High School Principal at Davenport now..still single .... and maintains he likes his "single bliss." Almost before Kenny got out of his car...Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Nelson, QLowell and Kathleen Hay, if you recallD...pulled up beside our car. After all these years, they haven't changed much...first they argue, and two minutes later they're holding hands again. . Maybe that's to be expected of a couple who've never had any children to worry about and fuss over. Lowell wanted to be an architect .... but, he ended up b selling Florida Real Estate. He does lots of travelling ies- pecially through the Southl. Both he and Kathy had a nice sun tan. You see, he makes plenty of money as testified by the fine clothing they were wearing and the expensive car he drove. Nancy Hoppe was next to put in an appearance. She's teaching school now, too .... in Chicago. She and Kenny Brokaw found a few things in common to talk about since they were both still single and following the same vocation. Only thing Nancy chose to teach 3rd grade pupils. The biggest argument of the day was be- tween these two when they started to discuss the advan- tages and disadvantages of High School teaching vs. grade teaching. Kenny came to the conclusion that Nancy can still win an argument. Marvin Marsh pulled in at l2:3O...and is his wife beautiful? A red-head... Their car bore a New Jersey license plate. I hadn't heard anything about Marv since soon after graduation. I caught myself staring at him...how distinguished he looked. No wonder! He's manager of a men's fine Ready To Wear Store. His wife' father is Co-owner of the store, and could take over, so Marv used it as an excuse to come back to Morley. Adorable, 6 year old twin, towhead out of the car...and a cute little a nButchn hair-cut...just like his followed close behind the heels of daughters, climbed 3 year old son Cwith daddy used to wearj, his sisters. Dale Findley arrived a few moments later...and with him was Kenny Daub. Both were in sailor uniforms. After High School each had joined the service and liked it so well, that they had remained in it all these years.' By some co-incidence both had been stationed at San Diego for the past 6 months. Since both planned to make the trip back for the reunion, they decided to save gas and come together. Dale asked if Margo Huhl had ever married...I told him she had. I guess he was still carrying the torch. Kenny said he was ready to flirt with anyone still single, providing she understood Hhe had a girl in every port.n We waited till l o'clock...then decided the other two weren't coming...so we spread out the table cloths and started unpacking our lunches. Every one was so excited that we weren't really much interested in food. Then...we saw a long blue car coming up the lane. would it be Charlene Holdren or Carol Pulver? To our surprise they were both in the car. Charlene looked wonderful...just like she does on T. V. Everyone says she has a greater following than Kate Smith did in her prime...and the guy she introduced 0 9 I Ng IP as her manager turned out to be hermhrand new husband. Just honeymooning, you know. Carol Pulver...or Mrs. Matt Moore now, lives in Radio City too. Her work is also there. She spends many hours of her time, side by side, with her minister husband as he tries to give new faith to the many who have so little. Her husband wasn't able to get away... so she contacted Charlene and made arrangements to come ...even though she knew she'd have to take the evening train back... She, like all the others...had kept the Date. we ate things like: sandwiches, pickles, potato salad, chicken, and cake...but our talk was of l953 and l97L4....of Morley, New York, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Florida and other places of the earth... of Mr. Greenawald and Mr. Ridout and the other teachers ...of our children and my grandchild...only to mention a few things. When we parted we made a solemn vow to keep another date 20 years hence, l99M. I also forgot but just as we were all preparing to leave... I overheard Kenny Brokaw tell Nancy Hoppe that he was fairly certain there would be a third grade vacancy at Davenport next fall.
