WESTPAC DEPLOYMENT To each of the men that have served al)Gard LSCGC iVlORGENTHAU these past ten months, those words have portrayed a vast array of meanings. To some of us they have been characterized in the excitement of visitin far off places, never to be seen again. To others they have svmbohzed the opportunity to perform duties and missions, only infrequently experienced in normal Coast Guard operations. But regardless of the many individual motivations or ordeals, there have been unifying experiences, felt by all, that have led to the [jroduction of this chronicle. By this media we hope to share with those (jf you who have been left behind, what we have learned from this part of our lives. We wish ou to experience tho.se difficulties and disappointments, those moments of pride and satisfaction, and the limes of joy and happiness. But most of all, we wish to show you that we have observed this time in our existence: and have come away with a new and perhaps better view of ourselves. This chronicle will also serve as a reminder lo each of us that we have seen this different world. That we have been affected by the places and the people; and that we can not remain the same for these experiences. Let this also be a reference for these memories after thev have been dimmed bv time. ,, «■ « ' ■ ' '
