Frankie Lemine, junior for- ward, was leading scorer for :he Clydemen. He was on the 'Xll - Sectional Tournament Team, unanimously selected For the All Big T-:n Team, and was selected as captain Jf the second All-State Team. Harold Vandervort, Jun- ior center, was good for get- ting rebounds from the hanlc- ingz board. i'Lefty will be barl-1 next year to play h's usual position at Center. Victor Boniili, junior re- serve, was the chief substi- 'utc for the team. Hlnl-gy-Du i, is he is called by his team- mates, should see plenty of Action next year. Robert Romine, junior re- serve, saw very little action nn the hardwood but should strengthen the team next year. George Flegal, junior re- serve, played his first season with the squad this year. Flea saw very little uction this year but should play a lot of hall next year. YValter Koehler, Senior guard, was the only senior on the squad. Swede played fine hal during the three years he was on the squad. He made the All-Sectional Tournament Team, and re- ceived honorable ment'on for the Big-Ten team and the fxll- Sfate team. Robert Sine, junior guard. p'ayecl good ball for the Nl. H. 5. team. Zeke , playing his First season with the Clyclemen, saved a few bat- tles with his odd shots. Charles Rice, junior for- ward, helpecl the team out of several tight spots with his smooth set shots from the side. Ross is expected to do big things next season. John Law, junior reserve, is pretty good shot although he clidn't see very much service. He should shine next year. Johnny Richards, junior re- serve, saw very little action, but should play good ball for the squad next year.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS The intramural program which has been increasing steadily each year under the direction of Mr. John Roberts, physical education instructor, open- ing with touch football, basketball, and softball had a good turn out. Wrestling was one of the most popular, with 34 boys participating. The winners were - Art Liberatore, IO5 lb. class: Red Martin, IZ5 lb. class: Elvin Mollohan, l35 lb. classg Mike Wilson, I45 lb. classy Vic Bonfili, I55 lb. class: Bob Brewer, heavyweight. BASKETBALL The I943-44 basketball team had an exceptionally good season with I 7 wins and 3 losses. The Clydemen won their first two games and lost their third. After winning 5 straight games they lost to a strong Wheeling quintet and beat Triadelphia on a week-end trip to the Panhandle. They lost their next con- test to a hot Mannington team and were undefeated the rest of. the season. The Red and Blue Cagers came through the season with I I wins and I loss in the Big-Ten Competition to be rated as Big Ten Champions of I944. The Clydemen, after beating Clay-Battelle, lost a close one to Grafton 37-4I to lose the chance of playingin the State Tournament. Frankie Lemine, diminutive forward on the squad who sparked the team through many tough battles was placed on the All Big Ten conference team and was chosen as captain of hte second All-State team.
