Fo rt y-I wo FOOTBALL The I943 football team came through with a good season, win- ning 6, losing 3. After winning over West Milford and Parsons by large scores the Clyde- men were stopped by Wheeling 26-6 for their first defeat of the season. However they came back the next week to hold an old rival, East Fairmont, scoreless and then defeated Elkins. Morgantown then lost its first home game by one point to Weston, I4-I3. The following week Morgantown lost to Washington-lrving, Big Ten champions. The Clydemen then finished the season with two easy victories, smothering West Fairmont 32-0 and Grafton 34-0. Although his first year with the tearn, he proved his worth with his hard driving and as a block- ing back. Bob Wiley Cwhite Balll, junior manager. This was Whitey's first year as man- ager, and he has done a fine joh. Fred Lawson fLnirson I , junior tackle. Lairson proved himself to be one of the most reliable men on the team. He received honorable mention for the Big Ten Team. Next year he should be one of the outstanding linemen. Victor Bonili Unki-Doj, junior halfhack. lnki-Do was a good pass receiver. INTRAMURAL SPORTS The intramural program which has been increasing steadily each year under the direction of Mr. John Roberts, physical education instructor, open- ing with touch football, basketball, and softball had a good turn out. Wrestling was one of the most popular, with 34 boys participating. The winners were - Art Liberatore, IO5 lb. class: Red Martin, IZ5 lb. class: Elvin Mollohan, l35 lb. classg Mike Wilson, I45 lb. classy Vic Bonfili, I55 lb. class: Bob Brewer, heavyweight.
