HE SENIOR CLASS of Morgantown High School is a fine example of school spirit. During the three years we have been attending this school we have caught the glow of pride of former students and made contributions of our own that stimulate the love we feel for M. H. S. To our predecessors we owe . . . the high rating given our school for scholastic achievements . . . superb basketball and football teams. Our athletic field is named for Pony Lewis, an athlete of whom we are all proud . . . graduates have gone from here to become leaders in professions, industry, and the armed forces. Yes, the past offers much of which to be proud -- but so does the present. The basketball team won the big Ten Championship this year. Members of the class of '44 have already joined the armed forces and many more will follow soon after graduation. Our motto expresses our ambition to make the future successful as a tribute and a contribution to Morgantown High School.
