O THE VERY capable guidance of the School Board do we owe the high standards of our school. The direction of activities and financial re- sponsibilities fall into their special sphere. Their task has not been an easy one during this uncertain period. The confidence and essentials we need to face the problems of the present and the future have been given to us by our principals and teachers. That we can trust their guidance is indicated by the reports from students in the armed forces and by the success of many other graduates. Although we take their services as a matter of course, we appreciate all their efforts in what they are doing for us. Some of our faculty members are contributing to the war effort through defense work and by service in the armed forces.

PRINCIPALS Mr. Scott H. Davis, principal, has used his extensive knowledge in any subject for the good of Morgantown High School, its admin- istration, its faculty, its students, and its friends. He is one of the school's foremost faculty members not only because of the years spent here as teacher and adviser, but also because of his friendly influence with everyone and everything connected with the school in general. Mr. Davis received a Bachelor of Arts de- gree from Fairmont State Teachers' College, and a Master of Arts degree from West Vir- ginia University. D o C! U 9 . Mr. Lynn Hastings, assistant principal, has instilled the principles of right thinking and clean living in the minds of those privileged to make his acquaintance. ln his years as adviser he has served the administration, faculty, students, and friends of Morgantown High School. Mr. Hastings attended Fairmont State Teachers' College and completed work for his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree at West Virginia University. From l9l6 to l93l he served as superintendent of county schools and in 1939- l940 as principal of Morgantown junior High School.
