..-riff' Pint-Size Panther 4980 might be the year for pint-size panthers, but senior Sherry Dodson has more than a pint when it comes to spirit. Standing only 4'8 in a crowd, Sherry is sometimes hard to find: but at a pep rally or a game she can be seen where the action is. l'Being different is what appeals to Sherry about being the mascot. After all, there are twelve cheerleaders, but only one panther. Learning all the cheers and chants has not been very difficult for Sherry because all the cheerleaders have helped, and for this Sherry is very grateful. The first game made her feel 'inervous and almost anything to promote spirit, with confidence and enjoyment. and show lots of imagination. Cindy is a typical senior with a very special interest in other people from all over the globe' she has pen pals. I got the idea from a friend who lives in Charlotte said Cindy who then wrote to Dear Pen Pal for some names and addresses. She communicates with her pen pals in Israel Georgia and Trinidad about interesting differences within schools families and past time activities. Sometimes she sends small trinkets from our country to help them understand the American way of life. Because of the differences in life styles, Cindy enjoys learning about the culture of other countries. lf you ever need a pen pal, just ask Cindy: she will lend you one. NI K. df wi Practice ls Fun Gene Meade, three time world champion in blue grass picking, has greatly influenced one of Morehead's own to enter the world of blue grass music. Sophomore E.T. Jackson began playing the guitar about two and a half years ago after listening and talking with Mr. Meade. E.T. comments, After talking with Mr. Meade, I thought about making blue grass music my profession. In the beginning the practice sessions were long and hard, but now the usual practice of an hour a day is more fun than practice. Since he started playing the guitar regularly, E.T. has hopes of pursuing a career in music. ln 4979. he performed in the annual senior talent show and was well received by the audience.
