WEST SIOE SIOR 258 Moreau's most successful musical production was West Side Story, performed April 10th, llth, 12th, and 13th, in the Moreau Auditorium. The play was under the direction of Mr. John Barreiro, with Danita Fraga and Bill Shindler as assistant directors West Side Story is the timeless story of two people falling in love, who are not conscious of any social status, of war between two street gangs in New York City during the l950's. The result of Maria and Tony's love is the death of, first, Maria's brother Bernardo, and then, of her boyfriend Tony. Choreography was by Mrs. JoNeal Boic and Danita Fraga. Sister Ann Margarite was musical director, and the instrumental was done by Celeste Repasky and Nancy Berdrow. The cast starred Kevin Quigley, Betty Barrett, Mark Folger, Nancy Bevilacqua, and Armando Cordoba. Other members of the cast were Matt Gallagher, Pat O'Brian, David Eggers, Bob Cook, Clare Stich, Roxanne Soares, Rilia Callaghan, Cheryl Baglietto, and Patty Gruidl. Teachers who starred in the production were John Barreiro, Vern Davidson, John Higgins, and Petar Zegura. Many thanks go to all the others, too numerous to name, without whom West Side Story would not have been the biggest money maker in the history of Moreau High School.
