He graduated from Southeastern Mggaagaltgwnb Unlverslty ln 1976 with a bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology. ln February 1977 was commissioned an Ensign through Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rl Att ' er all months ol schooling in San Diego, CA, CDR Stokowski reported to USS COCHRANE KDDG 20 I P l n ear Harbor. Hl. ln COCHRANE he made a deployment to the South Pacific as Main PropUlSl0f1 Assistant lMPAi and one to the North Arabian sea as Combat information Center Officer QCICOJ- From 1981 to 1983 CDR Stokowslii earned a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. CDR Stoll owskl reported to the Pre-commissioning Unit for Valley Forge in Pascagoula, MisSiSS'PP' ln 1984 ' to prepare the crew lor duties in the new ship. He then served as Weapons Officer in USS VALLEY FORGE QCG 501 homeported ln San Di 0. During this period, TICONDEROGA made a deployment to the Medlterra See the Arctic Ocean and the . . Arabian gun. ln the Arabian gulf Ticonosnosa escorted u.s. fl39U'd 'W tankers.
