They also serve who only stand and wait. The past twelve years have taken sacrifice, patience, hope, trust, faith, and a little fear on the part of you who waited. At first it was for the triumphant announcement, Here I am! Later it changed to a slower, less exuber¬ ant Mom, I ' m home!, and finally it receded into the banging of the front door and an unhurried trek up the stairs. Keeping the light burning as a welcome from ball practice or play rehearsal; listening to the exciting account of the game that was won, (or to a detailed reason why it wasn ' t); turning a sympathetic ear to the dreamy romancing of the first date; smooth¬ ing ruffled feelings and encouraging depressed spirits; waiting with thankful hearts as the procession of gradu¬ ates moves up the aisle to receive the award which marks the completion of life ' s first challenging task - In these and a hundred other ways you have served. With hearts full of love and gratitude for those who made our school days happy and secure, we, the Senior Class of 1960, dedicate this edition of the ECHO to; OUR PARENTS.

Principal Dear Students, As the years pass and you go farther and farther from the friendly halls of Montvale High School, your yearbook will become more and more a treasure. As you turn its pages, you will return in memory to the happy days you spent with classmates and friends here. You will re-live in fancy many of the experiences which molded your character as a student at Montvale.
