One of the hirhlirhts oft he school vear is the banquet and dance honoring Mn Club and its members. It is on this occasion that the officers for the next year are announced. Irma Schoon will preside as president, Gene Kuehl as vice president, and Dick Skelley as secretary treasurer. Much credit is due to the sponsors of 'Mn Club' Miss Gardner, Mrs. Fraser, and Miss Ione Smith, who worked so industriously with the officers an: members to make the banquet and all the activities during the past year such a success. - ...4 ern Srd row Claire Shannon, Dick Sutherland, Dick Patterson, Lavern Rickele, Max Schrader, Irma Schoon, Joanne Schmidt Zn row lies Ahrendt, lies Wood lst row Charles Kreeb, Alice Clark, larilee latthieesen, Betty Jo Guyan Dick Bonwell ATIONA SCHOLARSHIP HONOR SQQFVV SERVICE LEADERSHIP M The Monticello National Honor Society was formed to create an enthusiasm for scholar ship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to en courage the development of character Membership in this organization is based on scholarship, service, leadership, and character To be eligible for election in this chapter, candidates must stand in the first third of their respective classes in scholarship Only fifteen per cent of any senior class shall be elected to membership Five per cent of the junior class is elected to membership during the sixth semester and the remaining ten per cent during the seventh semester Marilee Matthiessen was chosen president of the local chapter, with Alice Clark serv ing as vice president and Betty Jo Guyan as secretary treasurer Seniors who were initiated at the special assembly in school the first semester were Joanne Schmidt, Dick Sutherland, Dick Patterson, Dick Bonwell, LaVern Rickels, and Charles Kreeb Claire Shannon, Irma Schoon, and Max Schrader were accepted into this group at the annual Honor Society Banquet Miss Ruth Ahrendt and Miss Amney Wood sponsored the society this past year O . g g Q I .Q ff CHARACTER
