CLASS PROPHECY I had heard that once xn the l1fet1me of the chosen prophet a knowledge of the future would come One day as I was s1tt1ng by the f1re I happened to doze and the future of each of my class mates was revealed to me as pla1n as anythmg It 1S the sprlng of 1970 and the world has changed somewhat I was flymg 1n a modern a1rplane controlled by atom1c power As I passed from tovum to town I chanced to meet my old school mates In New York I stopped to see Dolph1ne Cobb who IS a famous dress des1gner known abroad as well as throughout the states My next stop was at Ebblts F1eld Brooklyn where Bobby Jones IS the famous Dodger catcher I could hardly get to h1m for all the krds, anxious to get h1s autograph I boarded my plane aga1n and the next town was Baltlmore Maryland As I walked down the street I saw a huge poster announc1ng that Ela1ne Weadon noted p1an1st was g1v1ng a concert I hurrxed to buy my tlcket, but I was too late all t1CketS had been sold far ID advance I traveled on and at Tampa Florxda I heard that Helen Jones or rather Mrs Hanks, ran a tour1st home and I hurr1ed to get a room and talk of our past school days From her I learned that Jr Clapp IS truck farmmg 1n F1or1da on a large scale In Las Vagas I saw Edward Hopk1ns name ID bw neon l1ghts He was runn1ng a pool room and bowllng alley It seemed as lf most of my class mates have settled 1n N C Peggy IS marr1ed to States basketball star and 1S a reporter on the Greensboro Da1ly News Laery Cooke IS st1ll a bachelor farm1ng and Marcus Faucette has marrxed and IS very good one In G1bsonv1lle I saw Thelma Haynes now Mrs Dewey Just1ce She has a lovely house and her m1sch1evous tw1ns keep her on the go I was 1nv1ted to d1nner w1th Ev1e Mae and her husband She and Clayton have an ador able l1ttle gxrl Ev1e told me that Joe Jones IS workxng w1th the F B I and had already tracked down several cr1m1nals When I got home that n1ght I found a letter wa1t1ng for me from John Jones He IS an offxcer 1n the Marxnes wh1ch he had chosen for h1s career I had read of the wonderful work he had done I had a talk w1th .Io Soyars before she left for Afrxca She IS golng back to carry her m1ss1onary work I know she s a good one wlth her gentle ways Bobby Smxth IS the coach at Sen1or Hlgh 1n Greensboro and h1s teams have won several trophles under h1s traxmng Donn1e Summers owns a large farm 1n Buslck and IS domg very well for h1mself Pete who has always l1ked the mov1es IS the manager of the Carolma theater 1n Greens boro On my next tr1p I plan to see Wade and Worth who have a prosperous bus1ness 1n Cuba I see myself as a wealthy W1dOW How else could I be travel1ng around 1n luxury I awake surpr1sed but happy to have seen my classmates as they w1l1 be 1n 1970 Betty Wagoner Class Prophet farming with the help of his two sons?
