HILLBILLIES EDGE HAMBURG, 6-O The Monticello Hillbillies, after a poor first half, came back to score a single touchdown on Robert Hyatt's 13 yard run in the third quarter and then settled down to fight off the tough Hamburg Lions, 6-O. MONTICELLO 14 STAR CITY 14 Robert Hyatt scored two touchdowns and two extra points to lead the Hillbillies over the Bulldogs. HILLBILLIES UPSET FAIRVIEW, '7-0 A fourth quarter touchdown and a point after by Robert Hyatt provided the District 8-A Hillbillies with a 7-0 upset over the Cardinals. MCGEHEE 13 MONTICELLO 13 The McGehee Owls took advantage of a lagging Monticello pass defense to come from behind and tie the Hillbillies in their homecoming after Monticello had chalked up a 13-0 lead on Ed Hyatt's 25 yard TD run and R. MONTICELLO 18 WARREN 0 i The Hillbillies played their best game of the year ' to defeat the Lumberjacks, 18-0. George Akin scored first on a 30 yard pass from Robert Hyatt. Then fleet- footed Jim Gladden ran 35 yards for another tally to make the score 12-0. Robert Hyatt closed out the scor- ing by ramming into the end zone from 8 yards out. MONTICELLO 32 EUDORA 6 Monticello ran up its biggest score of the year by defeating Eudora 32-6. Jim Gladden, a fleetfooted junior halfback, broke loose for many long gains and two touchdowns. Dick Forrest played his best game of the year, scoring one to give the Hillbillies a 3 TD lead before Robert Hyatt scored two more. Wells and Hyatt made the point after touchdown.
