.S slight e As our long awaited graduation day approaches we begin to reminisce the time we spent here at Montgomery. Laughter, tears, determination, fears . . . it's all a part of growing up. It all began with our sophomore year. The thrill of finally being in high school. The excitement of football games and assemblies, taking off at lunches to grab a taco! It was a year of wonderful nonsense! Our junior year brought out a more serious side of us. We faced a lot of new changes such as being the first to have to pass the competency test to graduate and the enforcement of closed cam- pus Qno more tacos!l. It was the year that most of us got our driver's licenses and the chance to borrow the family car or the luckier ones who got their own cars! It was the year we learned about responsibility. Then came our senior year, at last! Our responsibility was put to the challenge, as we competed for financial aid and college en- trance or hunted for employment. Of course, our counselors and parents were always there to help us when the going got tough, but in the long run we had to make the decisions. It wasn't all work and no play, though there was always time for entertain- ment and we took advantage of it! We got rowdy and had a good time! Ah, but who could forget getting the inevitable senioritis and all its dreadful symptoms. The times we felt as though we'd reached a dead end or the road seemed too long. We are deter- mined to succeed and will strive to reach our goals, whatever they may be. And now that we've passed the competency test, achieved 42 credits, sent our announcements and tried out our cap 8: gowns countless times, it's time for us to file in for Pomp and Circum- stance and receive the certificate that will open many doors for us in the future. But before we leave, we would like to show our gratitude to our parents, teachers and counselors, who gave us their support and helped us weather the Storms. All our lives they've given us everything on a silver platter and now it's time for us to go our separate ways and make our own lives. As we grow older and look back to our younger days, we will remember our old Alma Mater, Montgomery High and smile knowing that our class of 1981 is truly Second to None! ' Seniors 225
