Glee Club OFFICERS: President, Helen Ingram, Vice-President, Gene Clarkg Secretary-Treasurer, Lucille Kimble. FACULTY ADVISER: Miss Lillian Dent. The Glee Club of Montgomery High School has this year had one of its greatest years, with its membership totaling forty-two members. It seems now that the Girls' Glee Club is no longer, since this year a number of boys have joined. These Basses and Tenors have improved the quality of the singing of the club a great deal. Since the high school trio was graduated last year, a new one was formed. Composing the new trio are Lucille Kimble, Jo Ann Rader, and Paula Gene Young. The new trio has appeared at the Woman's 'Club and the Lion's Club. The Choral Festival was -held April 11, 1940, at 8:00 P. M. Twelve high schools were represented and more than four hundred pupils participated. This year the festival was held at the Montgomery high school, and every Glee Club member has worked very hard to make it a success. Next year several members will be chosen to attend the State Chorus. This will meet at Huntington at the same time that the S. E. A. meets. It was at Wheeling this year, which made it impossible for anyone to attend. In order to qualify for the State Chorus, one must have a good voice, a knowledge of music, and practice under a private teacher. : L Page Forty three
