Our English Department was under the excellent chairman- ship of Mr. Frank Jacobson Cextreme lefth. He was sup- ported by Mr, Reuben Pear- son, Mrs, Virginia Hawthorne, Mr. Edwin Coffin, Mrs. Edith Karas. Three popular English teach- ers of the underclassmen were Mr. Lloyd Baskerville, Mrs. Myrtle Sperling, Mr. john Blair. Zcfucalou Uffea f in Malay qiefcb interested in furthering the education of each mem- ber of the school, and they work with the sincerest effort to achieve this end. Whatever department a visitor may enter-busi- ness, English, art, social studies-he will find the faithful faculty, with utmost patience, showing some struggling student the do's and dont's of that parti- cular field. And the students have learned that they can place their confidence in these teachers. Since the Class of '55 entered MUHS in Sep- tember, 1951, some of the faculty have left, but each one is remembered. As this class leaves high school, they will be leaving some of the greatest friends, as well as the best teachers, they have ever known. Freshmen, sophomores, jun- iors, and seniors turned to the Counseling Department for advice: Mr. Arnold Edman, Mr. Chester Gadaire, Miss Hester Schoeninger, Mr. Joseph Kahle, Mr. Gordon Downey, Miss Eileen Brere- ton. Supervision of the Business Department was conducted by Miss Lorraine Giguiere, third from left. She was aided by Mrs. Nihla Knight, Mr. Harry Sortais, Mr. William Haw- thorne, and Mrs. Eudora Es- tep.
