en ior em oried With a feeling of joy tinged with regret, we Seniors prepare to leave the familiar classrooms of Monterey Union High School and go out into the world where each of us will go his separate way. We are eager to graduate, but when we are older we shall cherish the memories of incidents which happened in our high school days. We shall remember the assembly and dance we sponsored as Freshmen, and the awed respect with which we regarded the Seniors. How scornful we Sophomores, with our newly-gained poise, were of the Freshmen-how sure of ourselves. That year we sold popcorn at noon and sponsored the most unique dance of the year, the Fisherman's Ball. Our junior year was one of our most enjoyable years. We sponsored a donkey basketball game and a boxing tournament and sold cokes in the Science Wing. We sponsored the very successful Madri Gras Dance, and the Varsity versus the Faculty Basketball Game in order to produce the Junior-Senior Prom at Asilomar on May 27. This year, our last, we sold programs at the ball games, and more or less took it easy, sat back and let the under-classmen do the work. Our Senior picnic was held at Yuba Dam and our luncheon at the Mission Ranch. At the outbreak of the Korean War, several of our classmates left Monterey Union High School to put on the uniform of our country. We know not what the future may hold for us, but we can look back upon our high school days as carefree days.
