X -Country The Cross Country team during the Claremont meet at the rock quarry. Coach Will Wright Coach Mark Boen This year's Cross Country team started with heads held high, backed by the fine coaching of Mr. Wright and Mr. Boen. The team glided through pre-season and early league competition but fell to Chino on their own course. Despite the loss to Chino the team came back to defeat Pomona in all three divisions hoping to build up a solid attitude to pose strong competition against Upland and Clare- mont. Despite the all out performances by all the runners the Upland and Clare- mont meets were lost. By the fine efforts of runners such as team captains Dennis Caldwell and Gilbert Gomez the varsity was able to beat Bonita. Other fine ef- forts by Scott Echelberger in the junior varsity and Mark,Renyo1ds in the freshman, the two teams were able to also defeat Bonita. The final win over Bonita put an end ro the finest season the Cross Country has had. The fine finish the team had will be an inspiration to next years squad, which will help them to be the strong competitors they are.

The frosh team led by the superb coaching of Mr. Wallace and Mr. McFadden had high hopes but just couldn 't put it all together at the right time. We look forward to a better team next year with a lot of talent and good coaching. MR. MCFA DDEN MR. WALLACE
