asmsu initiates topic of the week Each week this year during the regular Student Senate meeting a discussion topic was presented to students to hash over. Although representing no formal resolutions, discussion usually extended beyond an hour. The issues and discussion did represent student opinion, however. Some of the topics discussed were “Is campusing legal? and “Should birth control pills be distributed through the Student Health Center? The office of the Associated Students of Montana State University was moved this year to the first floor of the Student Union Building — a more convenient location for students with expanded office space for officers and commissioners. The office was open full-time during the day because of an arrangement with the commissioners who each scheduled a couple of hours during the week when they would take office duties. This year ASMSU joined the Association of Student Government — a national organization of campus governing organizations which sponsors conventions and workshops dealing with current campus and senate problems. A resolution passed during winter quarter brought the senate meetings to the dorms with the first such meeting held in the Hedges dorm complex. (Above) ASMSU President Gary Fulker.
