THE BOARD OF PUBLICATIONS The Board of Publications is composed of the commissioner of publications, the president of the associated students, the editor-in-chief of each student publication recognized by the Senate, and the faculty advisor appointed by the President to each recognized student pub- lication. T' U16 THE STUDENT UNION BOARD The Student Union Board has been in effect since one and a half years before the Union opened for business in September 1940. The committee is composed of three faculty and three student members. This board has the responsibility of making policies for operation of the building. SECOND ROW, L. to R.: Hub White. THE BOOK STORE BOARD The Book Store Board has the responsibility of providing students with books of all kinds and descriptionsl Besides academic supplies, other small items that students are interested in are provided. The Book Store has its home in the Student Union: it is a student owned corporation, and all of the clerks are students.

THE STUDENT SENATE is composed of class presi- dents, the editors of the publications, the president of Fangs and Spurs, the commissioners of various activ- ities, yell queen, president of the Independents, A.W.S. president, the president and vice president of associated students, and other representatives. The Senate directs Freshman Week and High School Week. This group does the planning of student activity fees, and annually finances the statewide tours of three student musical groups. The Senate arranges the traditional M Days for repairing the M and campus cleanup during fall and spring quarters,

Zrfmmiffees THE CURRICULA AND INSTRUCTION COMMITTEE The Curricula and Instruction Committee is a committee that studies problems in higher education, it calls the attention of the faculty to new developments in collegiate education. This year the committee is studying the possibilities of a regional summer school, and the courtship and marriage course on the campus. SECOND ROW, L, to R.: Cyril H. Conrad, Howard H. THE STUDENT FACULTY SOCIAL COMMITTEE The Student Faculty Social Committee has members of the faculty and of the student body who have the final say in enforcing student rules whenever an occasion arises to do so. This com- mittee has the task of suspending organizations for breaking rulesg it lays down rules that aren't laid downg it is the supreme court of student affairs. THE STUDENT FACULTY RELATIONS COMMITTEE The Student Faculty Relations is a com- mittee composed of faculty members, appointed by the President and student members appointed by the president of the student body. This com- mittee can receive suggestions or gripes from anyone on the campus, the only stipulation is that they must be signed. SECOND ROW, L. to R.: Ruane D, Dunlap, Robert M. Miller.
