At first, we were shy and dldn't know our way around very well, but ln a few days we were able to get around as well as the upperclassmen. One of the first events to take place was the election of the class officers. Mrs. Berry' and Mr. Keener were chosen as our class advisors. On October 12, we had our 'Initiation Day.' The girls dressed in pajamas and the boys dressed in snort dresses. We all looked 'real cute.' The final event of initiation day was the snake dance that we all had to do across Worthington Ball Dla- mond. Everyone sald that we were good sports, and now we were an ac- cepted class of Monongah High School. On September 3, 1952 we were back again as sophomores. Miss Givens was our advisor for that year. During this year activities were few but we had hopes for the future and were looking forward to the nexttwo years. This was a very happy year because our football team won the State B Championship title. On May 28, 1953 the doors were closed on another successful year. On September 2, 1953, we entered our halls aga1n.MT8. BBPPY and MP- Templln were again appointed our class advisors. Every- one was excited because this started a year of many activities. We re- ceived our class rings and we were very proud of them. May 14 was the date of our annual prom. Everyone worked very hard and lt turned out to be a success. Mr. Hartman's orchestra played for us and we all en- joyed ourselves. Then came our sneak-day. We went to Cooper's Rock, where everyone had a wonderful time. On September 6, 1954 school re-opened and we were now d1gn1f1edSen1ors. We had a class election and Mr. Templln was our class advisor. Senior pictures were taken by Ideal Studio on October 12, 1954. We Seniors had a class play entitled WTeen Trouble' which was directed by Mrs. 5n0deP1Y and lt was a success. we also had a Sneak Jay which we en- joyed. We sat back this year and watched the Juniors plan for the prom. We all had a very nice time, thanks to the Juniors. Next came our sadest day of all, 'Graduation Day.n The Baccalaureate Sermon and the Commencement exercises cllmaxed this year. Now after four wonderful years of high school, we leave M. H. S. we are leaving in mind but not in heart, for here are some of our most cherished and dear friends, and also the many teachers who have been so helpful these years. So now we say good-by and good luck to the remaining students and may the rest of their years be as great as ours. rree,Ye I P P B I How We looked Men Dollie Mae Engle Linda Lou Tomlin Elmer Butcher SOI1 George Danko T55 , ' U .
