STOREKEEPERS (SK) SKs operate tlic ship ' s sloivroums and issue repair pails. Tlie also prepare requisitions and other purchase orders to maintain supphes at prescribed support levels to satisfy ship requirements. CULINARY SPECIALIST (CS) CSs operate and manage all galley and dining facilities. They are responsible for menu preparation, procurement, receipt, and stow age of all food on the ship. X SHIP ' S SERVICEMAN (SH) SHs are employed in a ariety of diverse serv ices outlets. They cut hair in the barbershop, manage the ship ' s store, operate all laundrv ' serv ices, and maintain inventory control and financial records associated v ith their work. POSTAL CLERK (PC) PCs perform postal counter duties, primarily in preparing, processing, and routing postal correspondence, records, and reports. DISBURSING CLERK (DK) DKs compute pay. prepare pa rolls, manage the , ' TM. and process financial entitlements for the crew . They also disburse funds for supplies and serv ices, and prepare financial accounts and reports.

PLANKOWNER A time honored tradition dating back to wooden ships, the officers and crew u ho are sen ing onboard USS MOMSEN ( DDG 92) at the time of commissioning ha e eamed the title of ■■Planlc Owner. E en, member of the commissioning crew will hold the honorar distinction for life and be entitled to A clear, free, open and unencumbered title to one plank of the deck. With this pri ilege lies a great deal of pride and responsibility. The members of the crew, who come from a wide range of backgrounds and na y experiences, w ere carefully chosen to bring MOMSEN to life. . s a team, they ha e v orked diligently to prepare this majestic w arship for the nation ' s ser ice. and they must continue to set the standards for those new Sailors w ho will become future crew members. These four plankow ners w ere amongst the first to arri e at Precommissioning Unit MOMSEN in Bath Maine. They established man of the policies and principles that laid the foundation of success for the rest of the crew . Their tours complete, they ha e mo ed on to new assignments: LT Brad Stallings w as the Chief Engineer and first member of the MOMSEN crew . He is now the Commanding Officer of USS THUNDERBOLT (PC 12). LT Jeffer ' Brooks established a new shipboard department. Systems Integration Department, and now is assigned to the Na al Air Station. Brunsw ick. GSCS( SW ) Michael Wroten w as the backbone of the Engineering Department. He is now the Departmental Leading Senior Chief on Precommissioning Unit B.AINBRIDGE (DDG 96). starting the process all o er again. ITl Joseph Deh ecchio w as a leader in the radio shack . He is now a commissioned Ensign in the Na y Nurse Corps and serves aboard the USNS COMFORT. To these steadfast shipmates we w ish fair w inds. until our wakes cross again... LT Jeffen A.
