JAMBOREES The first jamboree of the year was held Friday, October 17th, from 7:30 to 10:00 p. m. The walls were decorated with black cats and overhead were strips of orange and black crepe paper. The program was put on by the Student Council. Margie Clutch was speaker and Iktty Staiger and Roseanna Kirkendoll were her assistants in the Quiz Show. Several of the audience were asked to participate in the program. The second jamboree of the 1947 school term was on December 19, the last day of school for 1947. The decorations were Santa Claus heads, with cotton whiskers, on the walls, while strung from the balcony were twisted strips of red and green crepe paper. By the stage was a large (Christmas tree adorned with ornaments and tinsel. There was no program but everyone had a wonderful time dancing to the records, both fast and slow. The Christmas spirit seemed to move the boys because they danced more than at any other jamboree we had. The girls say Three Cheers. The Dragona Queen, Miss Betty Staiger, was crowned at the school jamboree on Jan. 30th. 22
