Several departments and offices are housed in the Administration Building, first of the present Southwest Missouri State College structures. Primary among these are the administrative offices, bookstore, health office, veteran's service, guidance service, and the placement office. The departments are three in number, and include the Department of English and Speech, the Department of History and Political Science, and the Department of Business, Novella Hildebrand and Paul McMasters, assistants to Don Payton, are busy writing news releases for the Springfield area .
