The plant of the Springfield Normal S chool, located at the corner of Pickwick and Cherry streets, was made available to the newly-approved State Normal School November 4. Below: W. T. Carrington, state superintendent of schools, 'was elected first president of the Springfield Normal S chool. It was nnder President Carrington that 543 students enrolled for the initial summer term. i.
