TEDEA N Bertha Wells serves in an advisory capacity to both girls and boys of S. T. C. Her duties have multiplied with the growth of the college, from the days when she taught Latin and German and acted as dean, to such multitudinous tasks that she now requires the services of a full-time assistant. She helps pl-an and arrange for social affairs, supervises generally the extra-curricular activities of the school, schedules rooms for such functions, issues lockers, approves the guest list of formal dances, runs a lost- and-found department, assists girls in finding means to help themselves through school, and aids both girls and boys in finding suitable lodging. In addition to all these duties, she is always willing to act as friend and advisor to the student in trouble. She has become well-liked by the student body for her fairness and cooperation. Miss Wells was born in North Mis- souri, went to high school at Kirksville, and was graduated from Drury. She taught Latin and German at Lamar before she came to S. T. C.
