“Dixie Wee ring, they think | When Ole Miss students think of spring, of fun in the sun, parties at Sardis and Dixie Week. Centered around activities held in the Grove, Dixie Week is a campus-wide spring ritual that gives stu- dents a chance to sit back, have some fun, and enjoy the beauty of the Oxford campus. Throughout the week, various artists entertain at noon on the Union steps, and the Nev ille Brothers who brought the Grove to life with their own style of the blues gave the final concert. Along with the music, Dixie Week offered various noon socials such as the ice cream social and the shrimp social. For those students who become rest- less with spring fever, Dixie Week also provides ac- tivities and contests such as the Frisbee Bowl Contest and the Golf tournament. And one of the most popular activities is tie-dying T-shirts. Dixie Week wouldn ' t be complete without Red and Blue Weekend. It is during the weekend that the Rebel defense and offense meet to sharpen their skills. During the game ' s halftime 90 alumni, including National Football League standouts Archie Manning, Ben Williams, and Rebel Coach Billy Brewer suited up to play their own version of the Red and Blue game.
