Halfback Frank Halbert (34) cuts around left end against the Greenies. Chuck Tempfer (80) battles a Greenie for the ball at the goal line. Chuck won but a penalty canceled the score. Fullback Buck Randall (41) drives over the Greenie goal line and the ref signals a TD. Fred Roberts (42) piles over a Greenie to collect six more points for Ole Miss. Tulane rolled into Jackson as a mighty Green. Wave and departed a mere fleck of foam. After a defeat by the Rebels of 41-0. The Rebels amassed a total of six touch- downs in handing the Greenies the smashing defeat. Ole Miss took the opening kickoff and marched down the field in ten plays. Billy Ray Adams plunged into the end zone from the one and Chuck Tempfer added the extra point. Fifteen. minutes later, Glynn Griffing passed to end Reed Davis for a 28 yard scoring play. The third Rebel tally came after one of the seven Greenie punts. Adams hit left tackle and romped 59 yards up the middle for the score. Tempfer again added the conversion to give the Rebels a 20-0 lead. On the following kickoff, guard Bill Basham pounced on a Greenie fumble to set up another Ole Miss score. This time fullback Fred Roberts piled over from the three. Chuck Tempfer again kicked the EP to bring the Rebels to a 27-0 advantage. In the third quarter, Grilling again passed to Davis. This time Davis covered a total of 25 yards and the fifth Rebel score. Wes Sullivan kicked the extra point. The final Rebel score came when fullback Buck Randall dived over center in the fourth quarter. Sullivan added the final PAT to give the 41-0 margin to the Rebels. Damn AP and UPI!
