Block and Bridle Sponsors MSU Rodeo The Block and Bridle Club of MSU is com- posed of agricultural students whose major interest is in Animal Husbandry. The Block and Bridle Club has long been recognized as one of the hardest working groups on campus. The activities of the club include the Junior College Judging Contest, the Little Interna- tional Showmanship Contest, the AQHA — NCHA approved horse show, Club Livestock and Meat Judging Contest, Spring Barbecue, and a Rodeo. The club also sponsors the Meat Judging and Livestock Judging teams, which represent the University at regional and nation- al judging contests. At the annual awards ban- quet awards are presented to the Livestock Man of the Year and Outstanding County Agent of the Year to end club activities. 248

Members of the Dairy Science Club are: Albritton, Bourhillon, Burnett, Calcote, Goodin, Green, Huffman, Hunt, McClendon, McClendon, Mengel, Moore, Moore, Oakley, Pigott, Ratliff, Savell, Shumpert, Tumipseed, Walker, Walker, Walker, Wardell, White. Dairy Science Club of MSU The MSU Dairy Science Club was or- ganized in 1919 to provide a channel of communications between students interested in the dairy industry; develop leadership and promote scholarship among its mem- bers; promote a good student-faculty rela- tionship; acquaint students with individuals in the dairy industry and to maintain an affiliation with the National Student Branch of the American Dairy Science Asso- ciation. Among the many activities of the Dairy Science Club are publication of an annual, a banquet honoring alumni and outstanding student members, participation in Ag. Field Day and a spring student-fac- ulty picnic. Funds are raised by wrapping Christmas cheese sold by the Dairy Science Department and sales of advertisement in the annual publication. Mississippi State ' s judging team placed second in the Ice Cream category of the Collegiate Dairy Products Evaluation Contest, bringing them a plaque. 250
