OCTOBER Doin' Saw Activities Begin i f-. . Sl X'l'liIiN Witelies and goblins were everywhere and the Carnival was nowhere. The fac- ulty and the lixeeutive Board decided there would he no Carnival, until the spring. The Hello dance, sponsored hy the seniors, and the first dzincte of the terni was zi big sue- eess due to thc hzird work ol the seniors :ind the dzinee roniniittee. The sophs just new to Mission were con- fronted with tests, tests, and more tests. The PTA was reorganizing, getting more nietnhers, and marking plains lor the luture. The soccer teznn was playing some toughies. Then suddenly the lun was ended - :it lezist lor Il few days. Yes, report fzirds were here. Stu- dents lound out that their hest. ellorts were not good enough, that the oeezisionzil missing of liotue work wzisn't the hest. lizreli :ind everyone decided to relorni. PREVIOUS PAGE: Sal Vergara, Jim McRory, Leo Burton and George O'Keefe added that certain touch to the rallies that put the Bears over the top. TOP LEFT-HELLO THERE and all that! The fun lovers nose around at thc menagerie's first shindig - the Hello Dance. MIDDLE-Trooping on the field at halt time the football war- riors looked a bit weary. However, it was only the beginning. BELOW-ANOTHER GROUP shot finds the Mission Bear rooting section rcotino their team home. OPPOSITE PAGE, TOP PANEL-MENAGERIE MEMBERS cavorted in the stands at the early season games. THE HEARTS began the year by singing their way into the hearts of all Rhythm and Blues fans. SECOND PANEL-THE BRAND new cafeteria attracted hordes of hungry Mission-ites. PHOTOGRAPHER Ken Hall, of Plymouth Pictures began taking senior pictures aided by student helpers like Bev Torrieri, of the yearbook staff. JIM SANCHEZ was awarded a jacket for designing the senior block by Bert Edelstein of Knit Kraft' while Lil Scorna, a Knit's worker and Jim Vance, low senior president, look on. THIRD PANEL- BAND MEMBERS Shirley Sims, Don Malone, Frank Rogers, Alberta Sylva, Ben Richards made the All City band.
